The original novel is a classic love story between Jane Bennett, a forward and self thinking women and Mr. Darcy and rough aristocrat. While everyone else is interested in getting married, Jane would much rather follow her own aspirations...in this case being a expert zombie hunter.
I am a bog fan of English literature, but I am an even bigger fan of zombie lit. When you mesh then together, is a romp that has no equal. It's a an amazing story of love mixed with zombie, training with katana swords and martial arts actions.
Anyone that is into straight zombie lit may find this to be a little slow. It's not a complete re-imagining of the story, but simply the addition of zombies to the existing story. It's still Pride and Prejudice and all the greatness of the classic piece of English literature is there, but they spice it up a bit with zombie hordes. Who doesn't love that.
Everyone is scared of turning into one and even a few people get bitten. You don't know how fun English literature can be until there is a series of beheadings. At one point, an entire party is overrun with zombies and it's up to Jane and Mr. Darcy to clean up the mess.
